The questions merchants ask most about invoices in Shopify.
Can Shopify create invoices on its own?
Partly. Shopify can email a draft order invoice with a checkout link, and its free Order Printer app prints invoices from the admin. Neither sends a branded PDF invoice for every order automatically. Send Invoice is a Shopify app that does: it creates the invoice from each order and delivers it by email, Slack or Google Drive.
Does Shopify automatically send invoices to customers?
Not as a PDF invoice for every order. With Send Invoice you set a rule once, such as daily at 09:00 for orders over $50, and invoices send themselves on the Plus plan and above.
How do I create an invoice in Shopify?
Install Send Invoice from the Shopify App Store. It imports your recent orders, you pick a template and add your logo, and every order can be turned into an invoice with one click or on a schedule. The Free plan covers 70 invoices a month.
Can I send invoices from Shopify POS?
Send Invoice works from the Shopify admin, not from Shopify POS or the Shopify mobile app. If printing at the till is what you need, an app with POS support is a better fit.

No. Send Invoice does not support e-invoicing, Peppol, ZUGFeRD or Factur-X. If you sell B2B into the EU and need them, an app such as Order Printer Pro or Vify is a better fit.
Is my customers' data safe?
Order and customer data is encrypted and handled to Shopify's Protected Customer Data standard, and synced orders are deleted automatically after 90 days.
